3G iPhone in Italy: a petition towards TIM and Vodafone for iPhone rates

With this petition, we would like to express our disdain for the price policy TIM and Vodafone decided to adopt for the marketing of the Apple’s 3G iPhone in Italy. It’s been more than 1 year and a half since January 2007, when Steve Jobs launched the product.

We Italian customers have been waiting all this time just to find out that TIM and Vodafone rates will be totally unacceptable. Specially considering the economical crisis that is constantly reducing purchasing power, we think such prices will damage Apple’s brand image and its relationship with potential customers. TIM and Vodafone’s policies are far from meeting the expectations we’ve come to have, considering how other operators in Europe and elsewhere are pricing their services.

Why should we be exploited when our British fellows are benefiting from O2’s rates?

We are disappointed and bewildered, because many of us will be forced to give up from purchasing the 3G iPhone. We think TIM and Vodafone’s policy will lead to a failure in selling iPhones in Italy and leave us as the most underestimated and scorned customers in a market that counts 22 countries since July 11.

The conclusion is that TIM and Vodafone prices are way too high and completely beyond any level of acceptability. For this reason, all we ask is a price adjustment in line with the italian market. Otherwise, we’ll be forced to boicot the 3G iPhone.

Hoping for some real answers, signs follow.
